The fishery improvement project (FIP) community of practice (CoP), established in 2016, connects the global community of FIPs to learn from each other and take action to increase FIP impact.

375+ members working on FIPs in 40+ countries make up the FIP CoP. While the community is global and open to FIP stakeholders worldwide, many members work in either the Latin America or Asia Pacific regions.

What is a community of practice?

A CoP is a group of people who share a common concern or passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.

What makes FIPs great is that there is flexibility in how to approach them based on the realities of the target fishery/region. Despite this, gaining understanding that FIP implementers throughout the region and world carry similar challenges and concerns has encouraged me to continue progressing forward to solve the challenges we face.
